I have a dell pc (opitplex)
The power control panel is very hard to reach. The motherboard does not have any pins where i can join my own on/off + reset switch. Dell have used a ribbon cable from the front panel to the motherboard.
Do you have any device that will turn on the pc from my switches that i have mounted on the car dash?
PC is powered by an 300 inveter and i am plannig to use "CarPC EZ Power Controller v2.5 (SDC) NEW" to control the power.

Regading the AMP and Inverter sequence... its ok Fair enough
but Why is it that the SDC BOOTS the PC and not Not wait for my singnal via
Pc ON/ Off switch to boot up.....
I ask this question Cos if i dont want to turn my PC ON then how do i go
about it since the SDC is still booting it for me.
And if it is the SDC that boots the PC what use is it to have the PC ON /
OFF switch ( for booting ) that connects to the 2 pin connector on the SDC next to the 11 pin connecter

Hi my PC config is ...
Via MINI ITX, P4 2.6 Ghz
I am using a PW-200-M power supply by MINI-BOX to power the PC and NOT an INVERTER..
Now i am wiring up the controller CarPC PRo 2.4 ( 4 LEDs) as per the manual...( no error )
Everthing is fine to begin with. Only 1 LED ON next to the 11 pin connector. Now when I turn on the Ignition rest of the LEDs also turn ON ( rest 3 )
Here the problem starts.On turning ON the accessory key the computer AUTO boots with out pressing the On/Off switch.
Y is this happening that the pc is booting on its own.. I am not using an INVERTER so i have left the wires marked 4 unused ( also the wires marked 5 for AMPs is also not used ) .... How can i correct this booting problem...
Also when i am NOT using the INverter and AMP why are the LEDs ON ?
PLs can u let me know ASAP cos now i am all done but for this controller

Thank you very much for the fast answer. I just did a check - with input voltage +13.5V after regulator (middle pin) I have 5.6 volts, when I have +15V at input than on the regulator output I have +6.8V volts. So probably it looks like the regulator is dead as well (at least does not hold the level in a right way). Of course I did this check with PIC removed. So you was 100% right about dead regulator.
How much I need to pay you for a new chip and new regulator ? How should I pay this amount ? Is PayPal good for you ?

Recently I bought a CarPC Pro v.2.5d - Power Controller from the MP3CAR.COM. It works great but I killed it by mistake (I connect +18 volts on its input instead of +13.8 maximum) and the voltage level on PIC Microchip was around +8.8 volts. Nominal maximum is 5.5volts. I am an Electronic Engineer. I checked all components and looks like I killed my PIC Controller on board. Also with no schematic it is little bit difficult to chack all components but the rest parts - transistors and all stuff are looking good. Is it possible to buy from you only PIC Controller with software programmed of course. Because I can not spend another 100$ on controller :( I like your controller and it worked for me more than 1 month perfectly ( I am in Canada and winter here is very cold so I was happy to have such function as temp sensors). But in one moment I did some ajustments at home and by mistake I connect +18.5V on the input instead of +12 - 13.5 volt. Now it looks like controller trying to ! start but immdiatly shuted down. Also I can not come in to Config mode - this means that PIC is some how dead :( So if it is possible to buy from you just Programmed PIC Controller for version 2.5D of CarPC Pro v.2.5d - The Most Advanced ATX Power Controller than tell me the price and the way of how to pay you. Thank you in advance. I hope you will understand my situation. Would it be not PIC controller, I could fix it with no problems. But in case of PIC I can not have the program code so I am asking you about help.
